Elio Ferrara was born in Naples in 1945. The works of Elio Ferrara are still remembered today, in Italy and in various parts of the world; but where he was most appreciated was in his beloved France. Here he produced Parisian-inspired subjects that he creates with a powerful pictorial technique; this is how markets, open-air bars, bistros, crowded avenues and nostalgic faces of local men and women are born.
Elio Ferrara is also an appreciated orientalist, he lived for a short time in Cairo; there, struck by the local color, he described its uses and customs.
